Back from Ocala
Back home from the Ocala Properties Horse Trials presented by Equiventures. A successful weekend which was super busy and to put in perspective, I had to be at 18 warm-ups and 18 students in the ring or on cc . I had two rides of my own which added another 6 rides to my list.
The success was measurable in many ways and I am very proud of my horses and my incredibly talented riders who have the confidence to allow me to train them in our great sport of eventing.
Ultimate Victory (aka Cody) – Performed nicely in dressage to tie for 7th moving into cross country in the Open Intermediate Division. I concentrated on a positive great gallop around the course and had some time penalties which was a part of the plan. Cody proved to be his wonderful self on course.
On Stadium day, I asked the wonderfully talented Leslie Law to warm me up for stadium. (Lesley Grant-Law) We had an beautiful round and a double clear go to finish in 5th.
Cody is aimed to compete at the CIC 3 Star at Chattahoochee Hills Horse Trials and then to Bromont in the CCI 3 Star.
Ultimate Decision (aka Mark) – I am always wooed by this horse as he again scored a 24.8 in dressage in the Novice Horse B Division to win by 5 points. This is his 3rd consecutive dressage score under 25 out of 4 and the other was a 27.
The stadium round which has been our weakness was completed with a clean jumping round but we had some time which still allowed us to maintain the lead. A clear cross country gave Ultimate Decision his first of many wins I am sure!!
Mark will compete at the Area 3 Championships and then moves to training at Chatt.
Team Wallace South Students:
Taylor Nicole Dileo - on Rebel’s Legacy finished 5th in Training Rider B to qualify for the Training Rider Championships in May. She also competed her up and coming, Kenzo for the first time in eventing at the Novice level to finish in 14th on a clean cross country. Well done.
Parker Miller – showing her talented Jos Baco – finished in 5th in Novice Rider A – she had some time faults cross country to move from 2nd to 5th. That is ok because I am very impressed with this pairs partnership.
Briggs Surratt – Competed Hat Trick to a 7th place finish in Training Rider A – two un-characteristic rails in stadium kept them from a 3rd place finish.
He also competed Elisa Wallace’s Faris in Training Rider B to finish on his dressage score of 40.5 to finish 7th as well. This was great accomplishment for Briggs and Faris!
Jaimee Carnett - Competing her own Sgt. Derby in Training Rider for the first time, Jaimee had the best dressage score of the group from TWS in the training level. She had one rail and some time on cross country to finish 9th. Well done for her first training attempt.
I am very excited to have such talented horses and riders at TWS. The success of TW is built upon the foundation and success of my horses and riders. Thanks to all the parents for support and their contribution to their children’s success in the ring and in life.
On to the Area 3 Championships where all the TWS students have qualified to complete.
